Fondazione Achille Sclavo attends the 10th International Conference on Typhoid and Other invasive Salmonelloses

The Fondazione Achille Sclavo has been granted by the Scientific Committee of Coalition against Typhoid an oral presentation (and a travel award) to present the S-AFRIVAC project at the 10th International Conference  on Typhoid and Other invasive Salmonelloses, taking place on April 4-6 in Kampala (Uganda).

The conference aims to address the global burden of typhoid, paratyphoid and invasive non-typhoidal Salmonella (iNTS) disease and the serious increasing antimicrobial resistance of these bacteria, sharing the newest findings by the following actions:

  • Bringing together the world’s experts to advance knowledge, present new research and promote scientific collaborations around the world,
  • Setting the stage for the new typhoid conjugate vaccines (TCVs),
  • Advancing a clear agenda for preventing typhoid, paratyphoid and iNTS including the cross-cutting issues of water, sanitation, and hygiene, urbanization, environment and equity,
  • Building partnerships between science, government and businesses to strengthen typhoid, paratyphoid and iNTS prevention and control efforts.

The conference theme “From Evidence to Action” is timely as the global health community prepares for the introduction of new typhoid conjugate vaccines.

From Evidence to Action:

today we are very enthusiastic to contribute with our iNTS project to fight against this disease!
