to support the IV Edition of The Master Program in Vaccinology and Pharmaceutical Clinical Development.
Takeda Vaccines, Inc. has made available to the Fondazione Achille Sclavo ONLUS a grant to support the IV
Edition of The Master Program in Vaccinology and Pharmaceutical Clinical Development”, from June 2015
to December 2016. The Master Program, aims at providing physicians from developing countries with
interest in public health and infectious diseases the opportunity to learn about vaccine preventable
diseases, immunization impact, vaccine development and the roles of various stakeholders such as
academia and governing authorities in vaccine policy setting and immunization program.
The Grant provided by Takeda Vaccines will allow the Foundation to support the Master program, which
consists in 10 educational modules from a teaching faculty composed of about 170 lecturers including 50 of
the most respected and recognized world experts in different fields of the course, the fifteen young doctors
will be called to put into practice the knowledge acquired doing practical training at different laboratories
and departments at Siena University, GSK Vaccines and GVGH at the campus in Siena, Italy and in other
vaccines facilities. The course, is an official program of the Siena University, organized by the Vaccines
Academy, an initiative of the GSK group, supported by several stakeholders and is the only worldwide to
offer an official academic degree in vaccinology.
