The “Collaborative Efforts African Stakeholder Engagement for Combating Invasive Salmonella Infection Meeting” will be held in Kinshasa, Democratic Republic of Congo, from December 3rd to 5th , 2024. This conference will provide a platform for public health leaders, researchers, and stakeholders to discuss key objectives, fostering a collaborative and sustainable approach to combat invasive non-typhoidal Salmonella (iNTS) and typhoid in Africa.
Main objectives include:
- Sharing updates on research and data related to invasive Salmonella infections
- Fostering collaboration for vaccine development and deployment
- Developing a strategic plan for comprehensive iNTS disease response
- Addressing public health challenges of emerging iNTS strains and antimicrobial resistance
- Establishing a platform to discuss the End-to-End Ecosystem for iNTS disease and typhoid fever for vaccine development and deployment in Africa.
Dr Gianluca Breghi, Managing Director of Fondazione Achille Sclavo, will attend the conference and present a talk intitled “The Need for iNTS Diagnostic Tests” during the session dedicated to iNTS Future Management, scheduled on December 4th, 2024.
